These sprung French shears are light duty shears and are also known as jeweller`s snips or tinsnips. They feature straight blades and are ideal for cutting clean patterns from lighter gauge metal sheet. These shears are also excellent for cutting solder strip. The shears feature curved handles and a coil spring to reduce fatigue and to allow for continuous cutting. The ground, brushed tool steel blades will cut up to a maximum of 26 gauge non-ferrous metal (0.405mm). These shears have a blade length of 24.3mm and measure a total of 178mm in length (7"). A latch holds the shears closed while not in use for safety and blade protection. Please note that care should be taken not to use these shears beyond their maximum cutting capacity.
